Authors Wanted
To be an author, you need to have a sound and up-to-date knowledge of your subject, have an interest in writing and resources, and be able to work to deadlines.
To write at secondary school level, a good understanding of the new Curriculum, NCEA Achievement Standards and/or Unit Standards is essential.
We are particularly interested in updating existing titles or writing new titles to take account of the new Curriculum and the review of NCEA Achievement Standards and/or Unit Standards due to be implemented in 2010.
You could author alone or as part of a team - your team or a team to be assembled by the publisher.
Learning Workbooks
These are a new series of workbooks from ESA for use in the classroom throughout the school year. Some will have support material available on the web, a companion CD or as a teacher edition. The first dozen or so titles will be published over the next few months. Contact the publisher for more details and to see sample pages of some of those in production.
The digital future
ESA is working toward the digital future in publishing especially with our new series, Learning Workbooks. This will involve one or more of: PoD (print on demand) - to prepare books customised to a school's course; using XML to prepare web PDFs, online searchable PDFs, companion CDs, teacher editions and various types of support material. If you would like to be involved in any way, contact the publisher.
